Hows Monday for everyone?

Just nailing down Lance assignments and we'll be off.

Monday works for me. Although I wont be on to post til Tuesday.

Sounds good to me matey. I get back from my vacation on Tuesday night - back to work Wednesday sleep.gif;

Realistically, I'll be posting either Wednesday or Thursday night. Tommorow I'll be doing a quick summary post in the Cantina and then a post in the pre-OP thread you made smile.gif .

I just really need to iron out a few things out (Chingely; Nero and Sakaki; Why Kei-teh went back to Sheratan, etc).

cheers, Keith

I should be ready come Monday. But is the Aero-wing ready for me? *dons WWI style scarf and goggles*

Also, being that I'm new to this, I'm just going to sort of follow along at first, and not have my character jump out there too much during the op. Are there any other preparations I should be making in the meantime?

Drake, if you want to make a dossier for your character that would be awesome! The dossier's are in the databank section on the site (they seem to kind have fallen by the way-side, but I'd love to see more of them for various characters).

Also, I won't be able to join you guys for the first week or so of the op. (The mountains are calling). But I will be here in full force at the begining of September if not late August. I'm going to have my normal computer up and running pretty soon after that, so maybe I'll take a page from Keith's book and try and get some art in a post or two. Good luck with the start of the OP!

I went and did the dossier thing. I really started getting into it and got a little carried away, but it was fun as hell.

Heh, Drake is a blue-blood. Sort of.

Awesome! Maybe Drake and Garland will have some beef... Garrett is from Sommerset afterall... and I do believe that Sommerset lies in the Lyran Commonwealth. (This will, of course, have to wait until I've read the books concerning the FedCom Civil war and then we can be at odds tongue.gif)

Okay then, with BEN MIA and Keith and Garret needing a bit more time, I think we can delay it a few days more. I may post the breifing on Monday but I certainly don't expect any sort of action to get rolling along up until later in the week. The usual travel time and breifing QnA doesn't end til a few days after the breifing is posted anyways.

I'll be tweaking my profile and possibly adding another in the meantime to keep myself warmed up for this.

Sounds good.

You know, I haven't read all the FedCom Civil War books either, but if a person really wants to fill in the gaps in the story, there are plenty of other sources out there to get the information. I'm not advocating ruining the books or anything. It's just handy sometimes. Reading all those little "news headlines" while playing MW4: Mercs really fills you in on a lot, and gives you a pretty complete picture if you go back and play for both sides. It seems the MW games were always good at this, as they were my first real source of information on Battletech back when MW2 was the game to have. And then of course there are plenty of sources out there on the internet. My knowledge of the battles waged on New Syrtis is simply the result of skimming through information on the units involved, in this case the Davion Light Guards and New Syrtis CMM.

I'm assuming Sommerset is a Lyran world, since I remember the unit in that old Battletech Cartoon was known as the "1st Sommerset Strikers", and the commander was in fact a Steiner (cousin to the Archon herself, I believe). Yeah, our characters might be at odds due to our backgrounds. I don't suppose Capt. Garland has a strong German accent, does he? That would make it all the easier. laugh.gif

Hah, no he doesn't... at least not any more than Adam Steiner from the cartoon (which is hosted on the site somewhere I think). I'm just popping in for a second, but I will be back after a short expedition.
